In our June articles, we will begin to focus on our wellness; what we can do to stay healthy or become healthier.  Medical researchers are discovering that our environment has an enormous effect on whether we are healthy or not. By environment, they mean our external as well as our internal environment. We are fortunate to live on our beautiful island where we experience less external pollution than if we lived in a large city. Our greatest external polluter is our dumps where the toxic chemicals burn and pollute the air we breathe. Because these air toxins enter our bodies and ultimately cause severe damage, we must learn how to detox our organs. Another external polluter is the chemicals that we use to clean our homes. These chemicals are absorbed into our skin and into our lungs. The internet has websites suggesting many natural ways to clean our homes. The foods that we choose to put into our bodies also have a major effect on our wellness as they too can contain toxins. Our recent articles have recommended reading ingredient labels and choosing more fresh whole foods to help keep our bodies toxin-free. Next week’s article will be on how to do a simple body detox.
