Our focus has been on the external environment of recycling, we would like to focus on our internal environment; our digestive system better known as “our gut”. The medical research recently has been concerned about the health of our gut bacteria which ultimately determines our overall health. Normally,
we think of bacteria as something we have to sanitize against.; however, our digestive system contains good bacteria that are what keep us healthy by playing an important role in our metabolism. Gut bacteria  in sick people are much different than the bacteria found in healthy people. Doctors now believe that there
may be a link between the gut bacteria and many illnesses including diabetes, heart disease and obesity which are lifestyle related. Introducing probiotics found in yogurt is an excellent way to keep our digestive tract healthy. Next week we will give tips on how to save money while buying yogurt.
