AFTER SCHOOL SNACKS Our children are back in school and are coming home hungry after a long day.  It’s better to start them early enjoying foods that are more nutritious and better for them. Junk foods are filled with additives and preservatives that are not good for a child’s health. Plates of thinly sliced fresh fruit: apples, pears, bananas and grapes are healthy snacks. Add nuts, raisins, carrots and celery for more variety. Foods and drinks full of sugar are empty calories and can lead to childhood obesity and later in life to Diabetes. Good nutrition is like establishing good exercise training, it takes time to prefer foods that are beneficial for our minds and body.   Start early encouraging your child to eat the right foods. They will thank you!
