We would like to continue to discuss our concern for our children’s wellness. Good health begins when they are very young with the food choices that we make for them. What they eat is what their bodies use to build organs, tissues and bones. Children learn from their parent’s example. If we eat junk food and drink sodas, so will they and the health pattern will continue to be diabetes, cardiovascular and obesity problems for our children. We can make a difference by introducing whole foods into their diet. Fruit faces on a plate made up of a variety of fruits and veggies are a great way to get our children used to the
natural sweetness of whole foods instead of the added sugar and preservatives in junk foods. Change takes time, so be patient. The younger the children are, the easier it is for them to adjust. Start today with a fun fruit face when they come home from school. Substitute a smoothie for the soda! Over time, it will
make a difference in your child’s health and brain functioning.
